JIMMY GREAVES - A FOOTBALL LEGEND

Watching Jimmy Greaves in action was an absolute privilege. Blessed with explosive pace over five to ten yards, brilliant close control and a razor sharp football brain, Jimmy was every defender’s biggest nightmare. But despite his immense natural ability it was Jimmy’s scoring exploits which set him apart from the rest. Whether it was poaching a tap-in inside the six yard box, or waltzing through a defence single-handedly, Jimmy was a goalscoring genius.

Undoubtedly the greatest British striker of his generation, Jimmy Greaves is still regarded with love and affection by football fans throughout the world – and deservedly so. I am proud to call Jimmy a friend these days – but I will always think of him as a true footballing hero.
